USA Cycling Transgender Athlete Participation Policy Elite Athlete Fairness Evaluation Application

The USA Cycling Transgender Athlete Participation Policy (the “Policy”) Elite Athlete Fairness Evaluation Application is available for athletes who have transitioned, or are transitioning, from a male sex assignment at birth to a female sex assignment and: 

 

  • Have achieved “Group A” status as defined in the Policy; 
  • Desire to compete in a championships race at a National Championship in the female competition category; apart from Elite, U23, or Junior 17-18; and/or 
  • Eligible to set a National Record recognized by USA Cycling, in a competition category which is different than the Athlete’s sex assigned at birth, apart from Elite, U23, or Junior 17-18.

 

This Application must be submitted at least ninety (90) days before the start of the first event where the athlete would be considered a Group A Athlete, or the first championship race at a National Championship, in which the athlete seeks to compete in the female competition category. Group A Athletes who have transitioned, or are transitioning, from a male sex assignment at birth to a Female sex assignment are ineligible to participate, unless or until an Elite Athlete Fairness Evaluation Application is granted by the Elite Athlete Fairness Panel.
